I really have to apologize, I was looking thru some pics that I took in Feb 2010, and I realized that I never posted them here…
We stopped at one of the coolest Italian restaurants …right in New Symrna Beach Florida..called ” The Garlic”..
Romantic, outdoorsy atmosphere, since there was a tree growing in one of the dining rooms… v cool.
The restautrant had an open feel, perfect for a warm winter night..
An outdoor grill/smoker mesquite smelled wonderful !!
And garlic is hanging everywhere….
Old world whimsy type of decor
The earthen ware pattern is for sale — along with other pottery.
Specials are written on lasagna noodles…
Roasted corn, polenta and marscapone cheese ravioli…..mmmmm
Whimsy… again
Whimsy….
Cheesy….
Abondanza..
We had an appetizer….
Then dinner
Sorry about the angle…..hurts my eyes too…
Tortellini
Desserts…of course we had room…1 with 6 forks please…..
And our gracious host…the owner… of course everyone wants to know why this crazy woman is snapping pictures and not allowing anyone to touch their plates until their food has been photographed…
God love my husband, me has eaten so many cold meals…
I truly loved THE GARLIC, the decor is whimsy and fun, the artistic nature extends from atmoshere to the decor to the food. The owner came over to talk to us and he had been an opera singer/performer, and since my mother-in-law had performed at the Chicago Lyric opera for years, and years until she passed away (GRHS) he and my husband had much to talk about…
We have great Italian restaurants here in Berwyn and Cicero Illinois…. we truly loved the garlic and it has easily moved up into our top 5 for restaurants in the Daytona area…..
We LOVED IT !!
